mela was asked to plan, launch and manage a multi-channel behavioural change campaign designed to inspire people to use more Welsh in their everyday life.
mela worked in partnership with Welsh Government to design and create an ongoing digital campaign to encourage people to do the little things in Welsh.. The campaign asks people to share examples of the little things they do on a daily basis using the hashtags #PethauBychain and #LittleThingsInWelsh.It launched at the 2014 National Eisteddfod and continues to run across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The campaign has been hugely successful since its launch and is ongoing across key social media channels.
The Welsh Government ‘Cymraeg’ social media accounts have enjoyed a substantial increase in followers - within the first quarter following the campaign's launch @iaithfyw Twitter followers increased by 142% and Facebook received a total of 13,983 comments, likes or shares.
The campaign launch resulted in more than 14 items in national, regional and local press, five items on national television and two radio items.
